It's a trap

SHIPSHEWANA — Fifteen years of trapping animals has taught Todd Lang that trapping is an effective and humane way of catching animals. Not everyone shares the Indiana Conservation Officer’s opinion though. “There are a lot of misconceptions with the use of traps and one of... more...

The Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) University Religious Forum will host “Understanding the Nature of Science: Why Intelligent Design is Considered a Pseudo-Science” with Jeff Nowak, Ph.D., Thursday, Nov. 19, from noon to 1:15 p.m. in IPFW Walb Student Union, Room G21.

The presentation is free and open to the public. A simple lunch is served; donations are accepted. Reservations are not necessary. The series is sponsored by IPFW Campus Ministry.

Nowak is an associate professor of science education at IPFW and director of Northeast Indiana Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (NISTEM) Education Resource Center. He will discuss why people believe the theory of intelligent design is not true science and attempt to demonstrate that intelligent design should be considered a scientific theory.

Why is it that only religious organizations put on seminars promoting ID if it
is not a religious concept?

Can you tell us what's the nature of science? Watch your definition for some
sciences won't qualify as true science by your view.

One wonders how loudly Dr. Nowak and other dupes and minions of the Dishonesty
Institute would scream if a "University Science Forum" had the audacity
and arrogance to host a presentation on "Understanding the Nature of
Religion."

Intelligent design creationism meets all the requirements of
a being a pseudoscience, and meets none of the requirements of being an actual
science. That's why "cdesign proponentsists" (Google the term if you're
not familiar with this sordid story) have given up on doing research and have
focussed all their attention on church conferences and presentations to
religious - not scientific - audiences.

As Michael Behe famously admitted
in the 2005 "Dover Trial" (look it up in Wikipedia), for science to
accept intelligent design creationism as "science," the definition of
science would have to so dumbed down it would also allow astrology to be
accepted...

Still feeling the need to regurgitating childish caricatures like the
'Dishonesty Institute" and 'cdesign proponentsists', Paul?

I wonder why
that is. Could it be true Neo-Darwinism has left such a big void in your life
that you have no where else to turn?

We're pulling for ya', Paul.
