FORT WAYNE — Baseball fans want to be the first to see the Fort Wayne Tincaps play in Parkview Field April 16.
About 6,000 seats for the first game in the downtown stadium sold out in 28 minutes, said Mike Nutter, Tincaps general manager.
“The fans responded in a big way,” Nutter said. “It was a great, great response. At 10 o’clock, it was boom. Every single line was lit up.”
Nutter said it’s the easy navigation at www.tincaps.com that allows fans to pick their seats and the low cost that help drive sales.
There is 16 percent of one lawn section with tickets still available. Nutter said 40 tickets for $5 each are still available in one of the lawn sections.
Reserved tickets cost $8, all-star seating is $9 and seats in the homerun porch in left field cost $10.
Fans looking to purchase tickets can see what percentage of tickets remain in any section.
“Fans are saying, ‘Wow, this is incredibly easy to maneuver,’” Nutter said of the Web site. “We didn’t know what to expect. We knew that there’s a lot of interest.”
